Report: Cal WR Keenan Allen Red Flagged For A Drug Test At The Combine

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that California WR Keenan Allen was red-flagged for a drug test at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.

  • According to Schefter, Allen was given another drug test in recent weeks, but the results are currently unknown.
  • Allen’s agent, JT Johnson, has since denied that his client failed a drug test at the Combine.
  • Johnson added that the recent drug test was strictly related to his ankle and knee injuries and nothing to do with a drug test.

Johnson told Pro Football Talk that he has not been notified about his client’s test results.

We have received no notifications. None,” Johnson said Tuesday afternoon.

Allen entered the draft process as one of the top receivers in this year’s draft class, but his recovery from a knee injury along with poor forty times of 4.71 and 4.75 appear to have had a negative impact on his draft stock.

There’s still a chance he gets taken in round one, but it’s by no means a guarantee at this point.

We have Allen going to the Texans at No. 27 overall in our recent 2013 NFL Mock Draft.
