ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals have fired both HC Ken Whisenhunt and GM Rod Graves.
Previous reports have indicated that it’s very likely that Graves was going to be let go today, but there seemed to be some optimism that Whisenhunt would keep his job for another season. There are some strong coaching candidates out there, so it might make sense for them to move on now and start the rebuilding process in the coming months versus heading into 2013 with the hopes of contending in an increasingly difficult NFC West division.
Don Banks of SI.com reports that a league source has informed him that Cardinals GM Rod Graves and coach Ken Whisenhunt could be the “next two shoes to drop.”
Banks adds that the team is still deciding what to do regarding the two men.
