Cardinals Reach Agreement With CB Antonio Cromartie

Update:

The Cardinals have announced an agreement with CB Antonio Cromartie, per Mark Dalton.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that veteran CB Antonio Cromartie has reached an agreement with Cardinals.

  • Schefter adds that Cromartie will receive a one-year deal from Arizona.

The Cardinals met with Cromartie last week, but wound up leaving without a contract. It appears as though the Cardinals offer was still the best deal available, despite the fact that teams like the Jets could really use help at cornerback.

Cromartie, soon to be 30, is coming off of a very poor season by normal standards. He appeared in 16 games for the Jets and totaled 38 tackles, three interceptions and a forced fumble.

Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 100 cornerback out of 103 qualifying players last year.

We had him listed as the No. 3 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
