Report: Cardinals Release S Adrian Wilson

Mike Jurecki reports that the Arizona Cardinals have informed S Adrian Wilson that he’ll be released today.

Jurecki adds that Wilson intends to keep playing and is not considering retirement at this point.

Wilson, 33, signed a four-year deal worth $16.5 million with the Cardinals last year. He had a $1 million roster bonus that was due at some point this month, as well as a $2.5 million base salary for the upcoming season.

The Cardinals free up $3 million in cap space with this move.

He was still a productive player in pass coverage, but really seemed to struggle against the run last season. He should find interest, but most likely at a reduced price.
