Jaguars Claim CB Jamell Fleming Off Of Waivers From Cardinals

The Jacksonville Jaguars claimed CB Jamell Fleming off of waivers from the Cardinals.

Fleming, 24, was taken in the third-round of the 2012 draft by the Cardinals. Arizona has a deep group of defensive backs, which left Fleming expendable.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars have gotten off to an atrocious start that includes a loss to the Oakland Raiders. They could really use some additional help in their secondary, so we’ll have to see Fleming is capable of turning things around in a new setting.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Arizona Cardinals are releasing their 2012 third-round selection CB Jamell Fleming.

There has been speculation for months that Fleming could be on the chopping block, despite his relatively high draft selection just last year. Arizona has put together a decent secondary that consists of Patrick Peterson, Jerraud Powers, Antoine Cason, and Javier Arenas, which has left Fleming on the outside looking in. Last week, Fleming was inactive.

Fleming, 24, was set to make $495,000 for the upcoming season. We’ll have to see if he’s claimed off of waivers early next week.
