Report: Carson Palmer “Most Likely” To Start For Cardinals

Update:

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network confirms that previous report that veteran QB Carson Palmer is slated to start against Washington.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cardinals HC Bruce Arians is expected to decide on their starting quarterback two hours before kickoff today.

However, sources have told Schefter that they believe veteran QB Carson Palmer will get the start against Washington.

This would be a bit of a surprise, but Palmer has reportedly made decent progress in recent days after missing a few weeks due to a nerve issue in his shoulder.

Backup QB Drew Stanton passed all the required exams for a player in the concussion protocol and is now cleared to play, so they obviously have a decent contingency option.

Palmer has played in just one game this season and completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns.

We’ll have an update regarding the Cardinals’ quarterback position once the team confirms who the starter will be.
