Chargers Release CB Richard Marshall

Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, is reporting that the Chargers have released veteran CB Richard Marshall on Monday.

Marshall, 29, is a former second round pick of the Panthers. He spent five years in Carolina before he signed on with the Cardinals, Dolphins and Chargers.

Marshall appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers last season and was later re-signed to a a one-year, $855,000 contract with back in March.

This season, Marshall recorded 24 tackles over the course of eight games, but is rated as the No. 90 cornerback in the league out of 107 qualifying players, according to Pro Football Focus.
