Chargers Likely to Start King Dunlap at Left Tackle

The Union-Tribune San Diego’s Kevin Acee believes Chargers offensive tackle King Dunlap will begin the season protecting Philip Rivers‘ blind side.

There’s a chance Kevin Haslam could “get a shot” to compete for the position. Acee believes it’s unlikely anyone but Dunlap on the current roster would win the battle.

Less than two weeks ago, the Chargers with their first-round draft pick chose Alabama right tackle D.J. Fluker. Having been a right tackle in college, there was some thought that he could play the same position in the pro’s, or potentially compete for the left tackle position.

If Acee’s assumption is correct, it looks like Fluker will play the same position he played at the collegiate level – right tackle.
