Report: Chargers WR Danario Alexander Dealing “Major Complications” From Knee Surgery

Alex Marvez of Fox Sports reports that Chargers WR Danario Alexander has had to undergo “multiple” surgeries on his right knee because of an infection following his second ACL surgery.

According to Marvez, this recent setback has “cast doubt upon whether Alexander will be able to play in 2014.”

Alexander, 25, will be an unrestricted free agent in matter of weeks and while there is no question that he has plenty of talent, the fact that he’s already had five separate procedures on his left knee before the recent issue regarding an infection makes it hard to imagine there being even a modest market for services.

In 2012, Alexander caught 37 receptions for 658 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of 10 games.
