Report: Chargers WR Danario Alexander Recently Underwent 2nd Knee Surgery

Michael Gehlken of the Union Tribune reports that Chargers WR Danario Alexander recently underwent another on the same knee in which he tore his ACL back in August.

  • Gelhken’s source mentioned that Alexander is still working to be ready for the start of the 2014 season.

Gelhken adds that after this “revision ACL surgery,” it appears unlikely that he will be back with the Chargers next season.

In 2012, Alexander caught 37 receptions for 658 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of 10 games.

Alexander, 25, will be an unrestricted free agent in matter of weeks and while there is no question that he has plenty of talent, the fact that he’s already had five separate procedures on his left knee makes it hard to imagine there being even a modest market for services.
