Report: Chiefs LB Jovan Belcher Kills Girlfriend, Then Commits Suicide

Police have confirmed LB Jovan Belcher shot his girlfriend, with their 3 month old daughter and girlfriend’s mother present, after an argument in a residence 5 miles near Arrowhead Stadium before committing suicide in the team’s parking lot.

As Belcher arrived to Arrowhead, teammates informed GM Scott Pioli and HC Romeo Crennel that Belcher was distraught in his car. After having called the police, both Pioli and Crennel proceeded to talk to Belcher where he thanked them for “all they had done  for him” before pulling the gun on himself. He was 25 years old.

As of now, Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET game between the Chiefs and Panthers at Arrowhead is scheduled to go on as planned.
