Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that the Chiefs have signed DE Allen Bailey to a new four-year contract extension.

  • According to Florio, Bailey’s contract is worth $25 million and includes a $10 million signing bonus.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that Bailey’s new contract includes $15 guaranteed.
  • Bailey’s deal includes $4 million in injury-only guarantees that become full guarantees shortly after the start of the 2015 waiver period.
  • There’s also another $1 million guaranteed for injury only included in the agreement.

Kansas City used a third-round pick on Bailey back in 2011. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.596 million rookie contract and has a base salary of $645,000 for the 2014 season.

Bailey, 25, is in the midst of a very solid season for the Chiefs after he took over for veteran DE Mike DeVito to start the year.

Over the course of nine-games, Bailey has recorded 27 tackles, four sacks and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 defensive end in a 3-4 system out of 50 qualifying players.
