Former Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki Goes Unclaimed, Now A Free Agent

Former Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki went unclaimed after Kansas City placed him on waivers Wednesday.

Moeaki, 26, suffered a fractured his scapula during the preseason and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.

Moeaki was taken in the third-round of the 2010 NFL draft. Since then, he’s dealt with a number of injuries including knee operations and head injuries. He is expected to be back in Week 11, so we’ll have to see if a market develops for for him the coming weeks.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that league sources have informed him that the Kansas City Chiefs have waived TE Tony Moeaki from injured reserve.

  • Wilson adds that Moeaki will receive an injury settlement.

We’ll have to see what kind of market develops for his services or if he’s claimed off of waivers on Thursday.
