Report: Chiefs Will Likely Tag Dwayne Bowe

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs will use their franchise tag on WR Dwayne Bowe assuming that they’re unable to reach an a long-term agreement before March 5th.

Reports from earlier in the day mentioned head coach Romeo Crennel wasn’t as optimistic that Bowe would be back next season. Crennel didn’t specifically say that they wouldn’t retain him but instead implied that it was a possibility.

The Chiefs are looking at paying him $9.5 million next season if they end up tagging him but they have plenty of cap space to work with so this isn’t going to create problems for them.
