Report: Rams Traveling To Clemson To Work Out WR Sammy Watkins

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Rams are traveling to Clemson Friday to work out WR Sammy Watkins

  • Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported over the weekend that the Rams are hosting Watkins for a visit on Monday.
  • Rapoport mentions that the Rams could be choosing between Watkins, OT Greg Robinson (Auburn) or DE Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) at No. 2 overall.

Watkins is considered by many to be the best receiver in this year’s draft class, even though there are a few who prefer Texas A&M WR Mike Evans.

St. Louis has invested some high draft picks in the receiver position in recent years, but they could still use a legitimate No. 1 receiver. Of course, depending on what happens with the Texans No. 1 overall pick, the Rams could be in a great position to move down and load up on some extra draft picks.

We have the Watkins going to the Browns at No. 4 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
