Browns “Very High” On Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported over the weekend that sources have informed him that the Cleveland Browns do have interest in drafting Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel.

La Canfora mentions that Manziel would be a “perfect fit” in Auburn HC Gus Malzahn’s system, who is reportedly on the Browns list of coaching candidates.

This isn’t the first time that Manziel’s name has been connected to the Browns as Peter King of MMQB.com mentioned a few weeks ago that the Browns really like Manziel.

Cleveland has the No. 4 overall pick, so there is a chance they appear to be in position to draft a quarterback come May. However, there are a number of NFL teams drafting in the top-ten with a similar need at quarterback, and the fact that the Rams have already said they will listen to offers for the No. 2 overall pick, there is at least a remote chance someone could move up ahead of the Browns for the second best quarterback prospect. The Jaguars have the No. 3 pick, and are also in need of a long-term quarterback, so there is no guarantee that Manziel will be available to them at No. 4.

There is still a lot of time between now and the draft, but it appears as though Manziel could be at the top of the Browns list.
