Report: Colts Owner Jim Irsay To Be Charged With Two Misdemeanors For March Incident

FOX59 News in Indianapolis is reporting that Colts owner Jim Irsay will be charged with two misdemeanors for the incident that occurred back in March.

Irsay was arrested and charged with one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and one count of operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in his body.

According to Fox59, both charges qualify as class C misdemeanors and carry 60-day jail sentences should he be convicted. The substances found in Irsay’s system were oxycodone and/or hydrocodone.

Investigators have reportedly been analyzing the pills found in Irsay’s vehicle for the past two months in an attempt to identify the quantity and origin of the medication. Sources have told Fox59 that the “dosages are inconsistent with a typical patient’s therapeutic need or Irsay’s prescriptions.

However, the quantities did not raise any concerns with authorities regarding the possibility that Irsay could be dealing the medication.

The NFL has held off on punishing Irsay, which is actually consistent with their approach to handing down punishment for NFL players. Although, it will be interesting to see what Roger Goodell elects to do with an NFL owner.

We’ll have more regarding Irsay and any possible sentencing and/or punishment as the news is available.
