Report: Colts RB Vick Ballard Done For The Season

Update:

Mike Wells of ESPN.com has confirmed that RB Ahmad Bradshaw will “get the bulk of the carries” now that Vick Ballard is out for the season.

I’m ready,” Bradshaw said. “That’s just what happens when this happens. I’ve been working hard for this. You never know what can happen. Next man up.”

The Colts will be up against the Dolphins and 49ers in the next two weeks, so it’s not as though Bradshaw will have easy match ups to exploit in the near future.

  • Ian Rapoport’s sources have informed him that the Ballard suffered a “freak” knee injury.
  • Rapoport adds that Ballard will undergo further testing and “could” be out for the season.

With Ballard’s season over, the Colts will be forced to turn to veteran Ahmad Bradshaw and Donald Brown. They could end up bringing in a veteran running back such as Beanie Wells or Willis McGahee to add some extra depth at the position.
