Colts Release WR Da’Rick Rogers Following DUI Arrest

Update:

The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they have waived WR Da’Rick Rogers following his recent DUI arrest that occurred at 3:35 in the morning, per Mike Chappell.

The Colts listed the release for Rogers’ release as conduct detrimental to the team.

Charly Arnolt of FOX 59 in Indianapolis reports that Colts WR Da’Rick Rogers was arrested for DUI Sunday night while on the IUPUI campus.

  • Arnolt adds that Colts rookie CB Loucheiz Purifoy was a passenger in Rogers’ vehicle.
  • Rogers was pulled over at 3:35 am when police reportedly saw him driving on and over yellow line, according to Arnolt.

Rogers, 23, started off his college career at Tennessee, but later transferred to Tennessee Tech during his junior year after he was indefinitely suspended by the team for a violation of team rules.

Rogers wound up going undrafted last year, but managed to sign on with the Colts. He appeared in five games during his rookie season and caught 14 passes for 192 yards receiving and two touchdowns during his rookie season.

However, Rogers has yet to be active for any of the team’s first four games of the season and is at the bottom of the team’s depth chart, so an arrest like this could cost him his job with the team.
