Report: Cowboys & Anthony Spencer Expected To Discuss Contract Extension This Week

Anthony Spencer‘s agent, Jordan Woy, mentioned that he expects to meet with the Dallas Cowboys to discuss a long-term contract at some point weeks, via ESPN Dallas.

Spencer recently signed his franchise tender worth $10.6 million for the 2013 season, but a long-term could reduce that figure while freeing up some much needed cap space in the time being.

Dallas reportedly only has $177,005 in available cap room to work with and it appears as though they’re not getting any closer to reaching a long-term extension with QB Tony Romo, so this could be their best course of action at this point in time. They could also release OT Doug Free, but recent reports have suggested that he’s likely to remain with the team.
