Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Dallas Cowboys are currently in the process of doing their “due diligence” about possibly signing former Rams seventh-round pick DE Michael Sam to their practice squad.

This is first reported team to have interest in possibly adding Sam to their practice squad since he was waived this past weekend.

St. Louis has already announced their practice squad signings and Sam is not among the players signed to contracts. All indications are that they won’t be signing him unless their situation at defensive end changes.

Dallas could really use some help regarding their pass-rush, so we’ll have to see if anything comes of this report.

Sam recorded three sacks during the preseason, and said that he’s confident he can play in the NFL.

During his four years at Missouri, Sam recorded 111 tackles, 32.5 sacks, two interceptions, and five forced fumbles.
