Steelers Sign S Will Allen

Gerry Dulac reports that the Steelers have signed former Cowboys S Will Allen.

Allen was reportedly seen at the Steelers facility on Wednesday and his agent hinted that a deal was coming together fast.

Allen, 31, figures to be a depth signing as he’ll play behind Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark in the Steelers secondary. Allen played for Pittsburgh a few years and appeared in 46 games with them.

The Dallas Cowboys announced they have released ten-year veteran S Will Allen.

Allen, 31, signed a one-year deal $905,000 with the Cowboys back in March. Dallas gave him the start in their first two games of the season before turning to J.J. Wilcox.

The fact that Dallas allowed 512 total yards of offense to the Denver Broncos in Week 5, most likely propelled this adjustment to their secondary.

On the season, Allen has one interception and nine tackles, while allowing two touchdowns. We’ll have to see if he catches on somewhere in the coming weeks.
