Report: Cowboys Releasing DE Everette Brown

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Cowboys are releasing DE Everette Brown.

  • The Cowboys owed Brown a 2014 base salary of $730,000.
  • Brian McIntyre notes that the Cowboys will see a net gain of $235,000.

Dallas is still projected to be around $17 million over the cap, so more moves will be coming in the next few days.

Brown, 26, was taken with No. 43 overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, but lasted just two season before being released. He signed with the Cowboy in October of last season in order to add some much needed depth at defensive line.

He produced 10 tackles and a forced fumble over the course of seven games with the Cowboys.
