Report: Deadline Passes Without Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin Signing His Restricted Tender

Ian Rapoport reports that Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin did not sign his restricted tender before the deadline.

The fact that Baldwin didn’t sign his restricted tender means he’s now a free agent, but the catch is that the Seahawks are the only ones allowed to sign him to a contract.

Baldwin was hoping to work out a long-term extension with Seattle, but according to Rapoport, there is no agreement in place as of now.

  • Rapoport adds that Baldwin’s future with the team remains “unclear.”

Baldwin, 25, was one of the more notable restricted free agents this year and he would have made $2.187 million for the 2014 season by signing his restricted tender.

Last year, he played in all 16 games for the Seahawks in 2013, and totaled 50 receptions for 778 yards receiving and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 22 receiver in the league last season.
