Report: Dennis Pitta May Not Be Back Until Mid-To-Late November

ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Ravens do not expect to have TE Dennis Pitta back until mid-to-late November.

  • Werder adds that Pitta is “working out regularly.

Recovering from a fractured hip he sustained in July, Pitta was placed on the short-term injured reserve early on in the preseason. Pitta resumed practice earlier this month, so there appears to be some optimism that he will be able to return to meaningful action this season.

I got to be honest with you, I’m pretty impressed,” HC John Harbaugh said a few weeks ago, via The Baltimore Sun. “He’s running quite a bit in here on these machines and he’s already catching passes.”

Baltimore may not get him back until Week 12 or 13, but they are still in the mix for the AFC North, despite dropping two straight games. Pitta finished 2012 tied for second on the team in receptions with 61.
