Report: Seahawks Agree To Terms With DE Michael Bennett

Update:

Pro Football Talk reports that the Seattle Seahawks have signed DE Michael Bennett to one-year deal worth $5 million contract.

This is certainly a shock as, once again, there were no previous reports connecting the Seahawks to Bennett.

It figured to be down to the Dolphins and possibly a return to Tampa Bay, but Seattle now adds another defensive end their already solid front-seven.

We had him listed as the No. 8 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Pro Football Talk reports that a league source has informed them that the Miami Dolphins will bring in free agent DE Michael Bennett for a visit on Friday.

  • Rick Stroud tweets that he expects Bennett to sign with the Dolphins.
  • Mike Garafolo tweets that Bennett is likely to sign with Miami, but could visit with the Lions.
  • Mike Garafolo tweets that the Buccaneers would like retain Bennett.

Previous reports indicated that Bennett isn’t a priority for the Buccaneers. Bennett has put the chances of returning to Tampa Bay at less than 50 percent. During the “legal tampering” period, it was reported that multiple teams had checked in on Bennett, but there hasn’t been a lot of buzz surrounding him in recent days. The Dolphins could use another defensive end and have money to spend. If there is in fact a limited market for him, Miami could walk away with a steal.
