Dolphins Officially Sign Veteran OL Daryn Colledge

Update:

———–

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphin are “close” to an agreement with veteran OL Daryn Colledge.

  • Colledge is one of four free agent offensive linemen including Samson Satele, Steve Vallos and Ryan Harris who worked out for the Dolphins on Monday.

The Dolphins lost Pro Bowl C Mike Pouncey for “at least” three months after he suffered a hip injury close to a week ago, so it makes plenty of sense for them gauge the available options ahead of training camp.

Colledge, 32, doesn’t have NFL experience playing center, so this would be a bit of a curious signing given that there are some veteran free agents who could probably help the Dolphins. It’s worth mentioning that Colledge played for current Dolphins HC Joe Philbin while in Green Bay.

The Rams and Eagles had shown interest in Colledge after he was cut loose by the Cardinals a few months ago, but there has been little buzz surrounding him in recent weeks.

Colledge started for the Cardinals last year and appeared in all 16 games and graded out as the No. 39 guard in the league last year, according to Pro Football Focus. He did show some promise as a pass-blocker though.

We have Colledge rated as the No. 44 player player in our Best Available Free Agents list.
