Report: Dolphins Have Expressed Interest In CBs Walter Thurmond & Tarell Brown

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have expressed interest in free agent cornerbacks Walter Thurmond and Tarell Brown.

  • Jackson expects Miami to add a third cornerback at some point.
  • Jackson adds that the Dolphins haven’t ruled out possibly re-signing Dimitri Patterson.

Thurmond, 26, has largely been overshadowed by Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner, but he’s a much better player than a No. 3 option on most teams.

  • Thurmond does have some interest from the JaguarsBuccaneers and Redskins.

Last year, he appeared in 12 games and totaled 32 tackles, one sack, an interception returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and a recovery. Pro Football Focus has Thurmond ranked as the No. 31 cornerback in the league this season.

Brown, 29, appeared in 13 games last season and totaled 32 tackles and a fumble recovery last season. Pro Football Focus rated Brown as the No. 32 cornerback in the league next season.

We have Thurmond and Brown featured in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
