NFL.com’s Mike Lombardi reports that sources close to Jeff Fisher have told him that Fisher is close to taking the Miami Dolphins head coaching job.
“It appears he will choose the Dolphins (over the Rams),” reports Lombardi. He adds that Fisher “feels more comfortable with the structure in place in Miami than St. Louis.”
His source suggest that the deal could still get done today so be sure to check back for more details.
ESPN Radio 760 is now reporting that the Dolphins have not hired Jeff Fisher and the link provided below has been deleted by the owner.
It looks like there’s some confusion down in Miami.
It was reported to be down to the Dolphins and Rams and several NFL insiders had the Rams as the odds on favorite. Fisher even spent time with some of the teams players including Sam Bradford last weekend but he ultimately chose to take Dolphins job despite not having a quarterback of the future in place.
Reports indicated that Fisher was concerned about the team moving to Los Angeles in the coming years which is something that he experienced with the Titans franchise when they moved from Houston.
