Report: Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno Undering Going Knee Surgery, Out 4-5 Weeks

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery this week and is expected to miss four to five weeks.

This comes just a few minutes after Schefter reported that Dolphins C Mike Pouncey underwent hip surgery and will be out for around three months.

Recent reports indicated that Moreno was dealing with a knee injury and that arthroscopic surgery was a possibility, so this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.

According to The Palm Beach Post, Moreno mentioned that the Dolphins were “the only team that reached out to him during free agency.”

Moreno, 26, signed a one-year, $3 million contract that included $1.25 million guaranteed with the Dolphins back in late March. He unfortunately suffered an ACL tear back in 2011, but it is worth mentioning that his current issue are related to his other knee.

Looks like Lamar Miller should enter the regular season as the team’s starting running back. This could also help Daniel Thomas make the final 53-man roster, depending on how Moreno looks upon returning.
