ESPN’s Adam Schefter, citing a league source, reports that the Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement with RB Knowshon Moreno on a one-year deal.
Ian Rapoport reports that Moreno’s one-year contract is worth $3 million.
- Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Wednesday that the Dolphins were “moving closer” to an agreement with Moreno.
- La Canfora also mentioned that once Moreno was under contract with a team, the running back market is expected to pick up for other free agents like Maurice Jones-Drew and LeGarrette Blount.
The Broncos mentioned that they were interested in re-signing Moreno, but the Dolphins appeared all along to be the favorites to add him.
Moreno and Lamar Miller figure to be the team’s top-two running backs next season.
Moreno, 26, is coming off of a breakout 2013 season in which he totaled 1,039 yards rushing on 242 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with an impressive 13 total touchdowns. He also contributed 60 receptions for 548 yards receiving last year.
We had Moreno listed as the No. 14 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
