Eagles Trade For Saints RB Darren Sproles

———–

Jason La Canfora reports that the New Orleans Saints have traded RB Darren Sproles to the Philadelphia Eagles.

  • Pro Football Talk reports that Saints receive a fifth-round pick for Darren Sproles from Eagles.
  • The Redskins were one of the interested teams in trading for Sproles, according to Ian Rapoport.

The Eagles were mentioned as a speculative landing spot for Sproles, but there really wasn’t a lot of buzz about which teams were interested in the veteran running back.

Sproles joining an already dynamic offense with plenty of speed and agility, so it will be interesting to see how Chip Kelly utilizes him next year.

Sproles, 30, has one year remaining on his four-year, $14 million contract and is set to make a base salary of $3.4 million for the upcoming season.
