Report: Eagles Would Trade QB Matt Barkley For A Late-Round Pick

ESPN’ Chris Mortensen reports that the Philadelphia Eagles would be willing to trade QB Matt Barkley for a late-round pick.

This comes just a few hours after the news broke that the Eagles brought in Tim Tebow for a workout on Monday.

Philadelphia has already re-signed Mark Sanchez and acquired Sam Bradford in a trade with the Rams, to there is almost no chance of Barkley seeing meaningful playing time barring injuries to Sanchez and Bradford.

Barkley, 24, still has another two years remaining on his four-year, $2.739 million rookie contract. He’ll make reasonable base salaries of $592,50o and $685,000 over the remaining two years of the agreements.

Last year, Barkely appeared in one game and attempted one pass and ran for three yards.
