Report: Eagles WR Riley Cooper Could Find “Significant” Interest In Free Agency

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that a league source has informed him that Eagles WR Riley Cooper should “significant” interest as an unrestricted free agent.

Florio adds that the Eagles would like to retain Cooper rather than allow him to test the open market.

Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly reported a few weeks ago that the Eagles are expected to discuss an extension with Cooper at the NFL Scouting Combine, so it appears as though Philadelphia will do what they can to bring him back.

Jeremy Maclin is also a free agent as well, although it appears likely that he could be forced to sign a one-year contract now that he’s coming off of a major knee injury.

Cooper, 26, was forced to fill in for Maclin after he went down with a torn ACL before the start of the season. Despite some off-the-field issues that brought up questions of whether or not he should remain with the team, Cooper went on to have a breakout year fort the Eagles.

He totaled 47 receptions for 835 yards receiving to go along with 8 TDs. We have Cooper listed as the No. 57 player in our  Top 100 Free Agents list.
