Report: Falcons “Aggressively Pursuing” NT Paul Soliai

Jason La Canfora reports that the Falcons are “aggressively pursuing” Dolphins free agent NT Paul Soliai.

  • According to La Canfora, the Falcons could be implementing more 3-4 defensive elements next season.

Soliai, 30, is widely considered to be the best available nose tackle in this year’s free agent market. He signed a two-year extension with the Dolphins worth $12 million and included $6 million guaranteed back in 2012, but is in great position to secure a huge contract on the open market in the next few weeks.

Last year, Soliai totaled 35 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble over the course of 15 games. He was rated as the No. 20 defensive tackle in the league by Pro Football Focus.

We have him listed as the No. 20 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
