Report: Falcons Considered The “Frontrunner” To Sign OLB Brian Orakpo

Dianna Marie Russini reports that the Falcons are consider to be the “frontrunner” to sign free agent OLB Brian Orakpo.

  • Mike Jurecki reported yesterday that the Cardinals had expressed interest in signing Orakpo.
  • Mike Jones reported on Saturday that the Redskins haven’t closed the door on re-signing Orakpo and the two sides were scheduled to discuss a potential extension this past weekend.

Orakpo, 28, played out the 2014 season under the team’s franchise tag and is once again in line to be an unrestricted free agent. Last year, he made a salary of  $11.455 million.

In 2014, Orakpo recorded 24 tackles, a half sack and a pass defense over the course of seven games.
