Howard, 30, had a limited role last season with the Bengals defense, but performed adequately in the years prior with the Raiders.
Atlanta’s defense has been an underwhelming unit to say the least this season. Injuries have taken their toll on that side of the ball, so it makes sense that they would try to bolster their linebacker corps following a much-needed win over the Buccaneers.
Akeem Dent grades out as one of the worst linebackers in the league, according to Pro Football Focus. It’s at least a possibility that Howard could be asked to provide competition at that position. However, Howard has been out of football since last season and only started one game, so his impact will likely be relegated to providing depth to the position while he tries to pickup their defensive scheme.
