Report: Falcons & WR Roddy White Expected To Discuss An Extension This Offseason

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Falcons are expected to discuss a contract extension with WR Roddy White this offseason.

According to Rapoport, owner Arthur Blank is “committed to spending” money and given that they are in a decent financial position moving forward, the is expected to work out a “reasonable extension” at some point.

  • Rapoport adds that there have been no talks regarding Julio Jones, who is also entering the final year of his contract next year as well.

White, 32, counts $6.3 million against the team’s salary cap in 2014 and is entering the final year of his contract. Overall, that cap figure is a manageable number that can easily be reduced with an extension.

While White has dealt with a number of injuries over the years, he didn’t miss a single game during his first eight years in the league. There will be concerns regarding him moving forward, but it appears as though they would like keep him under contract for a few more years.
