Report: Free Agent OL Mike McGlynn Visiting With Packers & Titans This Week

Update:

Pete Dougherty reports that free agent OL Mike McGlynn will be visiting with the Packers at some point this week.

  • Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reported earlier in the day that the McGlynn is scheduled to visit with the Titans Wednesday night and into Thursday.
  • Wyatt adds that Tennessee is looking to bolster their offensive line depth.

McGlynn has already visited with the Rams and Redskins, so he has a decent amount of interest, despite the fact that the free agent market has started to slow down considerably.

McGlynn, 29, started 14 games for the Colts last season. However, Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 73 guard out of 81 qualifying players last season. McGlynn really struggled at both pass and run-protection, so there is some question about his ability moving forward.

Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that free agent OL Mike McGlynn is visiting the Rams on Friday.

  • McGlynn visited with the Redskins earlier this week.

The Rams have pursued depth all across their offensive line this offseason, making the versatile McGlynn a decent fit.  The Rams need interior depth even if Rodger Saffold kicks inside to play guard in 2014, as is widely assumed.

  1. We are at a point where they have to sign SOMEONE to help fill a need and consequently give us more flexibility in the draft. It could be Clemons or Britt or even Sanchez but PLEASE…Fischer and Snead get someone to fill a need.

  2. Another visit? When?…,When are they going to bring in some help? McGlynn is not what they should be doing. They finished 7-9. Depth is important for every team but they need to upgrade the front line first. Rams let a lot of free agents already slip by. They can still get the safety Clemons or Kenny Britt. This is what they need…impact players to help improve on that 7-9 season. And it would also give us more flexibility in the draft.
