Cowboys, Raiders & Ravens Have Also Shown Interest In S Thomas DeCoud

Update:

Free agent S Thomas DeCoud tells the Detroit Free Press that he has received interest from the Cowboys, Raiders and Ravens, to go along with the Lions who he met with last week.

However, DeCoud mentioned that he hasn’t scheduled any visits with the Cowboys, Raiders or Ravens.

There are still a number of decent safeties available, but at this point in free agency, NFL teams are clearly shopping for value.

DeCoud, 28, was cut loose by the Falcons a few months ago, but his market has been slow developing, despite being a Pro Bowler two years ago. Last year, he totaled 65 tackles and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.

Pro Football Focus has DeCoud rated as the No. 83 safety in the league out of 86 players qualifying players last season. We have him listed as the No. 29 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that former Falcons S Thomas DeCoud will be visiting the Detroit Lions today.

The Lions have been actively pursuing a plethora of free agent safety options, in the hope of improving the weakest area of their defense.

We have DeCoud rated as the No. 29 player in our updated Top 50 Available Free Agents List.
