LeGarrette Blount’s Meeting With Steelers Pushed Back To Friday

Update:

Aaron Wilson reports that free agent RB LeGarrette Blount‘s meeting with the Steelers has been pushed back to next Friday.

Blount reportedly had a visit scheduled for Sunday and Monday with Pittsburgh, but it appears as though they would prefer to wait until after the owners meeting.

Blount, 27, did enjoy some success with New England last year, rushing for 772 yards on 5.0 yards per carry, and seven touchdowns.  He also accumulated 1,007 yards and six touchdowns for the Buccaneers as a rookie, despite being signed as an undrafted free agent by Tennessee.

We have him listed as the No. 23 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens have expressed interest in free agent LeGarrette Blount

  • Wilson adds that Baltimore is expected to monitor Blount’s market in the coming days.
  • However, the Ravens have yet to scheduled a visit with him, according to Wilson.

The Patriots reportedly have interest in re-signing Blount as well, but it appears as though they are comfortable allowing him to field offers from other teams.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, citing a league source, reports that former Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount will visit the Steelers on Sunday night.

  • Wilson adds that league sources have informed him that the Patriots, Steelers and other teams have interest in Blount.

Blount has been a polarizing player since entering the league.  He has had bouts of success, but has been the subject of questions regarding his lack of speed and burst.  Blount can also run soft at times, despite his large frame.

Pittsburgh met with former Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew this week as well, so it is clear they are seeking a boost to their running game.
