Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the Titans remain interested in Broncos free agent DE/LB Shaun Phillips and free agent ILB Jameel McClain.
Phillips, 32, was signed to an extremely low contract last season and was without a doubt of the biggest steals in free agency.
Phillips produced 37 tackles, 10 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles. He also helped to mitigate the loss of Von Miller at the start of the season, which isn’t exactly easy to do.
Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 18 overall defensive end in a 4-3 system last season.
McClain has already met with the Bills, Vikings and Giants since being released by Baltimore.
McClain, 28, was released for cap relief as the team was working on extensions for TE Dennis Pitta and LT Eugene Monroe. Last year, he totaled 52 tackles and a forced fumble over the course of 10 games.
Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 34 inside linebacker in the league last season.
The Vikings just reached an agreement with Jasper Brinkley, so it will be interesting to see if they are willing to bring in McClain as well.
Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the former Ravens ILB Jameel McClain will be meeting with the Minnesota Vikings next.
McClain met with the Bills on Wednesday and the Giants today, so it appears as though a market is forming his services.
Former Ravens ILB Jameel McClain tells Joe Buscaglia that he will be visiting with the Giants in the coming days.
- McClain also mentioned that five teams are currently interested in signing him, per Aaron Wilson.
- Rapoport adds that McClain has more visits scheduled as well.
Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome didn’t close the door on McClain returning to Baltimore at some point, but it seems more likely that McClain will sign elsewhere.
