Four Jaguars’ Players Arrested In London

Update:

Jason La Canfora confirms that Barry Church, D.J. Hayden, Jarrod Wilson and Ronnie Harrison were the four players arrested by police.

Ian Rapoport reports the players went to the club on Friday night and were sent bottles of champagne and other high-end liquors and ran up a huge bill.

Sources tell Rapoport that they believed that the bottles were comped, but instead they were on their bill. The players refused to pay it, which led to an argument ensuing and the arrests being made.

The Jacksonville Jaguars released the following statement regarding the report that four of their players were involved in an incident in London, per Brent Martineau.

“We are aware that four of our players were detained over restitution of a bill. The matter is being resolved and the players are with the team. Any discipline will be handled internally.”

According to The Sun, four Jacksonville Jaguars were arrested in London after they were accused of trying to leave a club without paying their tab that was in the neighborhood of £50,000.

The players were reportedly prevented from leaving the club by security.

“Things got pretty heated and there was a lot of swearing and shouting and things became physical. In terms of preparation for their match, you couldn’t think of anything worse,” a source tells The Sun.

After being arrested, the players were released after nine hours in custody. The club is believed to have dropped the complaint against them after the bill was settled.

We’ll have more regarding the Jaguars as the news is available.
