Report: Free Agent C Andre Gurode Reached Out To Dolphins This Week

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that free agent C Andre Gurode reached out to the Dolphins this week following the news that Mike Pouncey will miss a portion of the 2014 season after undergoing hip surgery.

  • However, Jackson adds that the Dolphins have yet to return his phone call.
  • According to Jackson, Miami has made “brief preliminary inquiries” about the health and status of some available centers.
  • Jackson mentions that it remains to be seen whether or not the Dolphins will bring in any free agents for visits.

Gurode, 35, hasn’t found any reported interest this offseason and has only started nine games over the past three seasons.

He appeared in 10 games for the Raiders last year, but was limited to playing just 284 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Dolphins could consider other veteran free agent options including: Dan Koppen, Samson Satele, Fernando Velasco, Brad Meester, Ryan Cook and David Baas.
