Report: Free Agent DE Jason Babin Visited Jets On Monday

Kimberly Jones of the NFL Network reports that free agent DE Jason Babin visited with the Jets on Monday.

  • New York also brought in free agent OLB Quentin Groves for a workout as well.

The Jaguars cut Babin loose back in June, despite the fact that he voided his contract and later re-signed with the team earlier in the offseason.

It appears as though the Jets would like to add a pass-rusher ahead of training camp, so we’ll have to see if anyone ends up being signed in the next few days.

Babin, 34, recorded 40 tackles, 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles for the Jaguars defense. According to Pro Football Focus, Babin graded out as the No. 8 defensive end in a 4-3 system in terms of pass-rushing ability.

We have Babin listed as the No. 5 player in our Best Available Free Agents list.
