Report: Free agent ILB Arthur Moats Visiting Steelers

Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Steelers will meet with free agent ILB Arthur Moats.

  • Robinson adds that Moats will “probably” visit with Pittsburgh on Monday.

Moats has fared as well in free agency as I would have expected, as this is his first reported visit. The Browns came up as a speculative target, but they locked up Karlos Dansby to a sizable contract, which may have adjusted their plans.

Moats, 26, was a sixth-round pick of the Bills back in 2010 where he spent the first four years of his career.

In 2013, he totaled 54 tackles and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 12 inside linebacker in the league. According to their ratings, Moats was particularly strong against the run, which is something the Steelers could use.

We have him listed as the No. 12 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
