Report: Free Agent QB Josh Freeman Visited With The Bears Monday

Jason La Canfora reports that free agent QB Josh Freeman visited with the Bears on Monday.

  • La Canfora reports that the Bears also worked out QB Adam Weber as well.

Freeman, 26, has found almost no interest as a free agent, so this is certainly interesting news given that Chicago is need of a backup quarterback now that Josh McCown has signed with the Buccaneers.

As things stand right now, the Bears have Jordan Palmer in place as Jay Cutler‘s backup. They could always look to the draft for a quarterback to develop in the coming years or possibly give Freeman a shot at turning things around.

Working with Bears HC Marc Trestman has to be a selling point for a guy who once considered to be among the best young quarterbacks in the league.

Last year, Freeman appeared in just four games and 42.9 percent of his passes for 761 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.

We’ll have to see if anything comes of this visit.
