- Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that the Giants have expressed an interest in Saints’ C Brian De La Puente.
- Vacchiano adds that there is still no word as to whether or not current C David Baas is willing to accept a pay cut.
There have been reports connecting Dietrich-Smith to the Giants in recent weeks, so this isn’t all too surprising given that they hired former Packers QBs coach Ben McAdoo as their offensive coordinator.
Dietrich-Smith, 28, proved to be one of the better centers in the league this season. Green Bay has done a good job of acquiring quality depth on the offensive line, and re-signing Dietrich-Smith would finalize the rebuilding process.
De La Puente, 28, is one of the best available centers in this year’s free agent class and, up to this point, all indications are that he will be playing elsewhere next season.
We have both players listed in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
