Report: Giants LB Jon Beason To Start Camp On PUP List

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Giants LB Jon Beason will be the only player on the team’s physically unable to performance (PUP) to start training camp.

Beason suffered a  a ligament tear and a small fracture to the sesamoid in his right foot not too long ago, but he later received good news when it was determined that it won’t require surgery.

His foot will end up being immobilized for six weeks, which includes three weeks in a walking boot.

Beason, 28, re-signed with the Giants this offseason. He came over from Carolina after a mid-season trade sent him to New York for an undisclosed 2014 late-round pick.

Last year, Beason finished the season with 104 tackles, an interception and a pass defensed.
