Giants Sign DE George Selvie To A One-Year, $1.4M Deal

Update:

The Giants announced the signing of DE George Selvie on Friday.

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that the Giants have agreed to terms with DE George Selvie.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Selvie receives a one-year contract worth $1.4 million that includes a $200,000 signing bonus.
  • Art Stapleton reported on Thursday that Selvie was visiting with the Giants.

Previous reports had said that the Buccaneers are “very much in the mix” for Selvie and the Vikings had shown interest in him. However, it appears as though the Giants were the most serious suitor.

Selvie, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Rams back in 2010. He has since played for the Panthers, Jaguars, and Buccaneers before joining the Cowboys as a free agent in July of 2013.

In 2014, Selvie appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 30 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, a recovery and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 37 defensive end in a 3-4 defense out of 59 qualifying players.
